NSS ACTIVITIES-2019-20

The NSS Unit of Justice Basheer Ahmed Sayeed College for Women consists of 400 volunteers under four Programme Officers, viz. Dr Parveen Sultana, Dr Lalitha, Dr Mallika Begum and Dr Agthar Begum. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, different strategies were adopted to continue the good practice of creating awareness by conducting webinars and competitions. For the academic year 2020-21, the NSS Unit successfully conducted 17 regular activities.

World Yoga Day Celebrations: The NSS Unit of JBAS celebrated International Yoga Day 2020 via a virtual meeting in the online platform along with the NSS Secretaries and the NSS volunteers. A few yoga poses along with Surya Namaskar, (Salute to the Sun or Sun Salutation), were practised as an exercise. Volunteers were asked to send a poster of any yoga pose that they practised and liked. The aim was to create awareness about the importance of various yoga poses and their benefits.

Road Safety Awareness Campaign:

It's crucial to remind people to obey traffic laws and drive safely when they're on the road. The number of road accidents is increasing every day, and the only way to prevent them is to raise awareness about the significance of driving safely, wearing helmets, and adhering to the standards set forth by the Departments of Traffic and Transportation.

On the 19th of February 2021, the National Service Scheme of Justice Basheer Ahmed Sayeed College for Women held a "Road Safety Awareness Campaign" near our college's campus to raise awareness of the importance of driving safely. The campaign drew a total of 35 students who actively participated. The students created posters and distributed flyers about safety precautions to take while on the road, and pamphlets were given out to the public to emphasize the importance of wearing helmets and travelling safely.
