Alumnae Reunion 2019

Alumnae Report 13th July 2019

Justice Basheer Ahmed Sayeed College for Women organized its annual Alumnae Reunion on July 13, 2019 at 11.00 a.m. in the college auditorium. More than 700 alumnae of the college participated in the event and connected with the Alma Mater and their friends.

A crowning moment of the event was the signing of an MOU for Joint Scientific Activity between the Department of Applied Physiology, University of Miyazaki, Japan and the P.G & Research Department of Zoology of the college to facilitate the research participation of the staff and students valid until 2023. This MOU was initiated by an alumna, Dr. Radha Madhyastha, which made the institution proud.

The programme began with an invocation to the Almighty by Sama Yusra of II year B.Com. Dr. Shanaz Ahamed, Principal of JBAS college welcomed the gathering. The annual report of the Alumnae Association was read out by Joint Secretary of Alumnae Association, Dr. Fathima Banu, in which she briefed about the various activities and the previous year’s Alumnae Fun Fest. She made a special mention about the alumnae website and the FB page to connect with thousands of alumnae spread across the world. Dr. Roshanara, Secretary, Alumnae Association in her speech motivated the alumnae.

In his presidential address Mr. Moosa Raza, Chairman of the S.I.E. Trust highlighted that the alumnae play an important role in the growth of the institution and their contribution to the society as mothers, wives and sisters is commendable. He lauded the efforts of alumnae like Dr. Radha Mathyastha who was instrumental in signing the MOU (Memorandum of Understanding). He stressed that the alumnae reunion is all about catching up with old friends and the faculty and walking down the memory lane.

An Alumnae Newsletter titled The JBAS Bulletin was released on the same day by the Chairman, Mr. Moosa Raza with information about various alumnae achievers and their contributions. The first copy was given to the Principal.

Videos from the Alumnae living abroad was another highlight of the day. The following alumnae went down memory lane and spoke about their College days :

The vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Rayeesunnisa, Joint Secretary of the Alumnae Association.

Miss Aditi, an alumna from the Department of Political Science was the Master of Ceremony. The Programme came to an end with the National Anthem, which was followed by a sumptuous lunch organized by the College.
