ANTI-DISCRIMINATORY CELL / OBC CELL

The Antidiscriminatory Cell/OBC cell/Equal Opportunity cell under the aegis of J.B.A.S college for women started in the year 2010.

Objectives of the Cell

• This cell handles any issues relating to denying a student/staff member or a group of pupils on the basis of caste, creed, language, ethnicity, gender, or differing ability.
• This cell strives to maintain the institution's dignity by resolving any issues (if any) raised about equality in the provision of or receipt of education on campus.
• This cell guarantees that the university's students have a conducive atmosphere for academic advancement.
• In the process of learning on campus, this cell safeguards the rights of individuals without regard for their appearance or lifestyle.
• The Cell would outlaw all forms of discrimination and harassment against any individual, as well as provide preventive and protective measures to aid in their eradication and consequences for those who engage in any sort of discrimination or harassment. This cell will handle any issues relating to denying a student/staff member or a group of pupils on the basis of caste, creed, language, ethnicity, gender, or differing ability.

FUNCTIONS OF THE CELL

• To ensure equity and equal opportunity to the community at large in the college and bring about social inclusion.
• To enhance the diversity among the students, teaching and non- teaching staff population and at the same time eliminate the perception of discrimination.
• To create a socially congenial atmosphere for academic interaction and for the growth of healthy interpersonal relationships among the students coming from various social backgrounds.
• To help individuals or a group of students belonging to the disadvantaged section of society to contain the problems related to discrimination.
• To sensitize the college on the problems of SC/ST and other disadvantaged groups.
