ANTI DISCRIMINATORY CELL

BRIEF REPORT ON THE AWARENESS PROGRAMME CONDUCTED BY ANITDISCRIMINATORY CELL/OBC CELL DURING THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2018-2019

The Anti discriminatory Cell/OBC organized an awareness programme on the topic Minority for Major Change on 5.2.2019. The program was conducted in the sports pavilion from 11.00 am to 1.00 pm. The resource person for the program was Mr. Vishal Simon, Simplified Consulting who has more than 20 years of experience in conducting such programmes in the areas of empowering, motivating, self-actualizing of individuals who can be oriented towards success and accomplishment if guided properly. The program commenced with the Welcome address given my Dr. Lakshmi, Assistant Professor, Department of Tamil. She welcomed the resource person and requested him to carry on with the programme. The resource person for the day, Mr. Vishal Simon reorganized the students and holded their attention for the entire session with his intermittent humorous thought provoking remarks. He made them understand the importance of understanding and accepting the Change which comes in our life and which is the most important quality an individual must possess. He further highlighted that the idea of underprivileged is not with respect to the birth of an individual in any section of the society but underprivileged are those who don™t possess the power to dream. He stressed that the responsibility of making the next generation more independent and empowering lies with the present generation of students. He made the students understand this and motivated the students to take up every opportunity to learn and realize that the power to achieve everything lies in the hands of every individual. With these thoughts, he further emphasized the importance of giving back to the society all good things what we received from it. He further made the students listen to the personal experience of Mrs. Shiny and Ms. Jacqueline who further enriched the audience about how they accepted the challenges and changes in their own life and through self-realization of their potential, how they were able to achieve success as an individual. The program ended with vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Amutha Ramalingam, Assistant Professor, Department of Tamil (AN).
