History

The Department of Tamil is an Integral Part of the Institution since its inception in 1955. The department is flourishing about 8 staff members and around 1500 students, and offer Part-I Language Tamil and Part IV Non-Major Elective to students pursuing other languages.

Mission

 

  • To ameliorate the all round language skill.
  • To identify and have the oratorical/public speaking skill and creative writing skill of the students.
  • To expose students to the rich literature and to imbibe critical thinking.
