	History
  The Department of Sanskrit exists since the inception of the College. It was headed by Dr. S. Janaki, followed by Mrs. R.V. Jeyam, who rendered service to the Institution for over 2 decades. Since 1992 Dr. N. Sujatha is heading the Department. Hello
Vision 
Mission 
-  To teach Sanskrit language from the basics in terms of its antiquity vastness of literature contained therein to enable an experiential and participatory learning in the students. To develop a deep respect for Indian literature, arts and science by exposing them to Sanskrit literature. 
Highlights

Under the CBCS, students interested in learning the ancient oriental language, Sanskrit, are taught from the basic.

Promoting Language Learning and orienting Ancient Scientific research avenues

10days of bridge course is offered, before the syllabus is introduced to the students.

The focus of the department is to inculcate Indian culture and ethics to the students. 
 
Course offered 
      The Department offers Part I – Sanskrit to the B.A, B.Sc and B.Com streams.
