Profile of the Department:

The department of Business Administration was started in the year 1996 with a total strength of 48 students. Within a short span of time, the demand of this course increased and an additional section was introduced in the year 2001. Currently the total strength in I II and III year is 420 with 8 faculty members.The degree is designed to give a broad knowledge of the functional aspects of the industries and their interconnection. B.B.A. programme thus enlightens students to a variety of "core courses" and generally allow students to specialize in a specific academic area by offering elective courses from the II year according to the need of market and to enhance the employability skills.The degree also develops the student's practical, managerial, communication skills, and decision-making capability.Department incorporates training and practical experience, in the form of case projects, presentations, internships, industrial visits, and interaction with experts from the industry.

Highlights:

Teaching Methodology: goes far beyond the chalk and the talk, with case studies, student seminars and technology driven aids to nurture self confidence, people management skills and analytical reasoning.

Simulation exercises: Management games, role plays, team building exercises and so on have been practiced to facilitate learning through entertainment and enactment. Besides, business lab is established to simulate business processes. This further enhances the real life problem solving abilities with first person experience through simulation role playing exercises.

Industrial Exposure: Industrial Institute Interface is encouraged through guest lectures and industrial visits, experiential learning is Provided through Internship and Project Programmes. Students further get exposure to acquire leadership and management skills by means of various activities during their BBA programme.

Community services: Societal duties and responsibilities are inculcated through community service programs.

Mentoring: Mentoring system is adopted in the department which facilitates the student in her holistic development.

Management fest, Workshops and Seminars: Students are encouraged to organize and participate in intra and inter departmental seminars and intercollegiate fests to enhance their skills and to update them with the latest happenings in the corporate world in the field of management.

Augmentation: In addition to the curriculum the following Certification programs are designed by the department to bridge the gap between academia and industry with a vision to develop competencies at par with global requirements.
