October 15th – The Auditorium-cum-Theatre was declared open by the then (Chief Justice , the Hon’ble Mr.P.V.Rajamannar, under the presidency of Mr. T.L.Venkatarama Iyer Retired Judge, Supreme Court of India.
January 27th – The Swimming Pool inaugurated by the late Nawab Zain yar Jung, Former Minister of H.E.H. the Nizam’s Government Hyderabad,under the presidency of the late Mr. V.P.Menon, Retired Secretary to the Union Government
July – The College was upgraded into a First Grade College. The First College Day was celebrated under the presidency of Mr. S.Radhakrishnan, the then Vice-President of India
June - Introduction of N.C.C. The late Dr. K.G.Saiyidain, Secretary, and Ministry of Education, New Delhi, laid the foundation stone for the College Swimming Pool.
College established by Mr. Basheer Ahmed Sayeed, then Judge, Madras High Court, ably assisted by a few of his colleagues and his wife Hajani Fathima Akhtar, B.A., in exercise of the Fundamental Rights guaranteed by Articles 26 to 30 of the Constitution of India and repeatedly confirmed by the Supreme Court of India.
January 22nd – The Foundation tablet of the College and the first Hall laid by the late Prime Minister of India, Mr. Jawaharlal Nehru and by the late Moulana Abdul Kalam Azad, Education Minister, Government of India repectitively.
August 6th-Formal inauguration by Mr.Sri Prakasa,the then Governor of Madras.The First Hall was declared open by Mr.C.Subramaniam, the then Minister of Finance and Education to the Government of Madras. The College buildings , as they had progressed till then were declared open by Mr.Kamaraj, the then Cheif Minister of the Government of Madras. The strenght of the Student body was 111.
Purchase of about 16 acres of land for the College and Halls of Residence.
October 23rd – The Founding of the Southern India Education Trust by Mr. Basheer Ahmed Sayeed in collaboration with seven other prominent Muslims of Madras.
