Pasteur club Report 2022-2023

The Pasteur club of the Department of Microbiology, Justice Basheer Ahmed Sayeed College for women was inaugurated for the academic year 2022-2023 on 17^th September, 2022. The faculty Co-ordinators of the club are Dr. W. Parveen and Mrs. S. Irfana Tabassum. The chief guest of the event was Dr. J. Vijayashree Priyadharshini, Research Scientist and Associate Professor, Centre for Cellular and Molecular Research, Saveetha Dental College and Hospitals, Chennai.

The key point of her speech was to use digital aids as our assistants but not as our masters. She stressed that gadgets should not become an integral part of our life but should be used with caution. The takeaway message from the speech was to be grateful for everything that nature has offered us and get along with nature and use it wisely.

Pasteur club in collaboration with zee's SKIN MED HOSPITAL, Chennai conducted a medical camp program on 7th and 8th January 2023 from 1 pm to 4.30 pm for all the teaching, non-teaching staff and students of afternoon session, in the library reading hall. About 200 members attended the camp and benefited from the camp.  

Pasteur club in collaboration with SAVEETHA DENTAL COLLEGE, Chennai conducted a Dental camp program on 22nd February 2023 from 11.00 am to 3.00 pm for all the teaching, non-teaching staff and students of both forenoon and afternoon session, in front of the auditorium. About 200 members attended the camp and benefited from the camp.

Pasteur club conducted a class campaign for three days from 11th to 13th April 2022 and briefed on "AWARENESS ON COVID-19 AND VACCINATION". The students of UG Microbiology participated in the class campaign to spread the awareness amongst the students of all the departments of the afternoon session. Posters on variants of COVID-19 and types of vaccines were showcased to all the students during the campaign. All afternoon session students were the beneficiaries of the campaign.
