ACADEMIC YEAR 2021-22

Pasteur club of the department of Microbiology, Justice Basheer Ahmed Sayeed College for women was inaugurated on 27 December 2021. The faculty Coordinators of the club are Dr. W. Parveen and Mrs. S. Irfana Tabassum. The Chief guests were Dr. V. Naveen Kumar, Founder and Director of ImmuGenix Biosciences Pvt. Ltd. and C. Maria Arputha Samy, District Health Educator Directorate of Public Health and Preventive Medicine. The program began with the prayer by R. Priyanka, followed by welcome address by Dr. W. Parveen, Associate Professor & Co-Ordinator, Dept. of Microbiology, followed by the dynamics of Pasteur club by Mrs. S. Irfana Tabassum, Associate Professor & Co-Ordinator, Dept. of Microbiology. The Pasteur club annual report, 2020-2021 was read by Rafiya Omam, President of Pasteur club. The inaugural address was given by our chief guest Dr. V. Naveen Kumar on water borne diseases. The induction of newly elected office bearers was done by Dr. V. Naveen Kumar by handing over the badges to them. The elected office bearers were Rafia Omam-President (III B. Sc Microbiology), K. Mariam Nooru-Secretary (III-B.Sc Microbiology), S. Kamalaa-Treasurer (III B. Sc Microbiology), Monisha Rubeshkumar-Vice president (II B. Sc Microbiology) and R. Priyanka-Joint secretary(II B. Sc Microbiology). Welcome address for the second Chief Guest C. Maria Arputha Samy was given by K. Mariam Nooru-secretary. An awareness talk on COVID-19 was given by Mr. C. Maria Arputha Samy. The service certificates were distributed to the previous office bearers of the Pasteur club by C. Maria Arputha Samy. The program ended by the vote of thanks by S. Kamalaa-treasurer.

Pasteur club of Microbiology department, Justice Basheer Ahmed Sayeed College for Women, conducted a class campaign on 17th December 2019 on “Viral flu and precautions to be taken to prevent monsoon diseases”. The students of UG Microbiology participated in the class campaign and spread the awareness throughout the college in each and every department. The awareness was about the diseases-Dengue and Chickungunya and their cause, transmission, symptoms, prevention and treatment. Posters on Viral flu were distributed to all the departments of the forenoon and afternoon sessions of the college during the campaign.

    OUTCOME :

  • 1.All staff and students of the afternoon session from every department took part in the inauguration ceremony of the Pasteur Club.
  • 2.The inauguration was followed by an interactive session on "WATER BORNE DISEASES" by Dr.V. Naveen kumar and an awareness talk on COVID-19 by C.Maria aruputha Samy.
  • 3.The inauguration of the club and the facilitation of the office bearers made other students enthusiastic to join the club and work towards the future plans of the club

    OTHER EVENTS:

  • 1.3 minute videos on awareness of various emerging diseases were shared with all the departments every month to benefit the staff and students.
  • 2.The office bearers of Pasteur club also delivered Pep talks in the assemblies to the students of the Afternoon session.
