Activities of Academic year 2018-19

Pasteur club of the department of Microbiology, Justice Basheer Ahmed Sayeed College for women was inaugurated on 28^th September 2018 by the Chief guest Dr. Rema, clinical director, Trimmed therapy, Chennai. The program began with the welcome address by G. Keerthana, president of Pasteur club, followed by the dynamics and report of Pasteur club for the academic year 2018-2019 by Mrs. J. Sumitha, Faculty Coordinator, Pasteur club. The induction of new members was done by Dr. Rema by handing over the badges to the office bearers. The elected council members were G.Keerthana - President,  Santhya Rao - Secretary, Mangalam - Treasurer, Esther Feddora Geta Kishore -Vice president and Jenifer Diana - Joint secretary. The faculty co-ordinators of the club are Mrs. S. Irfana Tabassum and J.Sumitha. Dr. Rema gave a speech on lifestyle management of diseases through integrative medicine. Which was very informative and the program ended up with the vote of thanks by Sandhya Rao -Secretary of the Pasteur Club.

STUDENT OFFICE BEARERS

Pasteur club of Microbiology department, Justice Basheer Ahmed Sayeed College for Women, conducted a class campaign on 1^st December 2018 and briefed on “AWARENESS ON AIDS”. The students of UG Microbiology participated in the class campaign and spread the awareness throughout the college in each and every department.  The awareness was about the disease AIDS and the prevention, symptoms, transmission and treatment.  A questionnaire has been circulated to the students during the campaign to get a clear picture as how aware they are about AIDS. Pep talks were delivered and the red ribbon which acts as a symbol of AIDS were distributed among the students of the college.

The students of Pasteur club of Microbiology department, Justice Basheer Ahmed Sayeed College for Women, conducted a school campaign in Kendriya Vidyalaya School, Anna Nagar on 25^th January 2019 and briefed on “AWARENESS ON SWINE FLU”. The students of B.Sc microbiology participated in the campaign and spread awareness to the school students. The awareness was about the disease swine flu, prevention, symptoms, transmission and diagnosis. A skit has been performed on swine flu along with a power point presentation and a model of the influenza virus which causes swine flu.
