Activities of Academic year 2014 - 2015

Enviroclub –Report (2014-2015)

The Academic year 2014-15 was filled with lot of activities and enthusiastic participation of Enviroclub students.

The Enviroclub students of our college participated in the “Flipper fest” organized by Roots and Shoots foundation on 21^st & 22^nd August 2014 at Guindy national park. Our students of both forenoon and afternoon session participated in face painting and Street Play and won the  I and III place in face painting.

On 22^nd August our college students along with the Enviroclub Co-ordinator participated  in  a  State level competition conducted by Auxilium college , Vellore  and won many prizes and bagged the overall Championship trophy.

Enviroclub students along with Enviroclub faculty members participated in the International Coastal cleanup campaign  organized by Indian coast guards at Marina beach in September 2014.

One day workshop on “Paper craft work” was conducted for the Enviroclub students of both forenoon and afternoon on 1^st October 2014.

Dustbins were bought and placed in the college campus.

Plants, pots and soil were bought and placed in the campus and also in the corridors of departments.

On 11^th March an awareness programme on “Women’s health and hygiene” was conducted for the Enviroclub students by Mrs. Jayalakshmi from Women’s Life Care Centre (WLCC).

A sanitary napkin vending machine and a napkin destroyer was installed in the Psychology block on 9^th April 2014 which was inaugurated by our   Principal Dr. Shanaz Ahmed.

Every Monday during the assembly, issues related to Environment are highlighted along with an Enviroclub thought.

Enviroclub students participated in the Seminar conducted by Auxilium college ( VELLORE) and won the overall Championship trophy
