JBAS Alumnae Reunion 2026 - "Invite"

JBAS College for Women is delighted to announce the Alumnae Reunion 2026, an occasion to reconnect with our esteemed alumnae and celebrate the enduring bond with our alma mater.

This year, the reunion will be held on 19th September 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Theme of the Reunion:
"Echoes of Excellence - Celebrating the Legacy of Leadership"

We invite interested alumnae to contribute to the newsletter by sharing:

  • Articles or write-ups on their achievements and awards.
  • Reminiscences of their college days.
  • Poems.
  • Paintings and sketches.
  • Any other noteworthy contributions or accomplishments.

Alumnae are requested to submit their contributions on or before 30 August 2026.

2020-2021

Webinar on the topic Environmental Impact Assessment Act 2020 (EIA-2020) conducted on 24th August 2020.The Guest speaker was Mr. Niraj Bhatt, Researcher, Civil Action Group.

Online Special lecture on the topic Tackling Plastic Pollution was conducted on March 15th 2021.The Guest speaker was Miss Smithy Sharma, Policy Team Head, Amazon.

2019-2020

The Chief Guest Mrs. K.S.BEGUM M.L.,. Advocate & Notary Publlic, Madras High Court on 30th July 2019 addressed the students on legal rights and duties of a consumer.

Awareness on Sustainable Consumption on 9th October 2019 by Mrs. Saroja, Director, Civic Action Group.

A puppet show was arranged through Kalaivanan Group to entertain and create awareness among students on why marriages should not be done very luxuriously on 9th October 2019.

Inter departmental competition was organized on 19th February 2020 to encourage the students to participate in the off stage events like Poster Making, Collage and Photography on the topics conservation of Energy, unethical, Sustainable consumption and Clean and Green is our perfect dream.

Awareness programme on Food Safety was arranged by Consumer Rights Association on 11th March 2020. Resource Person was Mr.G. Santhanarajan, Director, Consumer Association of India.

2018-2019

An awareness Programme on Waste management on 13th December, 2018. Ms. Kripa Ramachandran, Researcher, Urban Governance Team, Zero waste Cities Collaborative Project, Civic Action Group

In collaboration with Citizen and Consumer Civic Action Group (CAG) a Road Safety Audit was conducted in the college campus for two days, on 12th and 13th of February 2019.

2017-2018

Special lectures were delivered on account of Consumer Rights Association on 3/8/2017 by Dr,.J.Vijayathilagam, Assistant Commissioner, Mr. L. Singaram, Deputy Commissioner, Mr. Anton Paiva, Assistant Commissioner, Department of Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection, Mrs. K.P Kiran Rao, Advocate, Consumer Forums.

To commemorate the World Consumer Rights Day, the CRA in collaboration with the Civic Action Group (CAG), and FEDCOT conducted a seminar on 23rd March 2018. Honourable State Transport minister M.R. Vijaya Bhasker was the Guest of Honour.

2015-2016

On August 25, 2015, a Workshop on “Health Hazards of Cosmetics”. was successfully conducted by Mr. Santhanarajan, Director, CONCERT. Miss.Kalyani Rajaraman, another guest of honour emphasized the importance of Consumer Rights.
