Activities of Academic year 2016-17

• The inaugural ceremony of Consumer Rights Association for the year 2016-17 was held on 19^th September, 2016. The guest of honour was Nirmala Desikan, Chairman and Managing Director of Consumer Association of India.
• G.Santhana Rajan, Director of Consumer Association of India spoke on “Food Safety and Standards”. He enlightened the audience on the impact of adulteration and also enumerated a few measures on how one can differentiate a duplicate product from the original.
• A training programme “Train the Trainees” was held on 13^th of February, 2017 by the Consumer Association of India to impart training to members of Consumer Rights Association. Such students member are in turn to train the school students of CHSS schools at Perambur and Maduvingarai and the CGHSS group of schools at Saidapet, Aminjikarai and Perambur and create a fundamental consumer awareness.
• An awareness programme on Medical Negligence and Rights of patients was held on 23^rd of February 2017 which was presided over by V.Dekal, Head of the Department of Forensic Science, Savitha Medical College. The chief guest threw light on Medical Negligence, where the health and life of people are at stake.
