REPORT OF THE ACTIVITIES

1. SWARNIM VIJAY VARSH

Swarnim Vijay Varsh was celebrated to commemorate the victory of India over Pakistan in 1971 war. The victory flames from New Delhi were dispatched to four cardinal directions of the country. In Chennai, the celebration was held at Dakshin Bharat Area on 23rd July 2021 for which five of our cadets, SUO S. Hari Preethi, CUO G. Almas, CUO S. Sakthi Santhana, CUO R. Tahura, LCpl S. Farahath Jabin volunteered for Ushering Duty. Our cadets witnessed live demonstration of the ceremony.

2. EK BHARAT SHRESTHRA BHARAT

Our cadets, Cdt M. Sowmya and Cdt N. Syeda Tahseen Fathima attended virtual Ek Bharat Shresthra Bharat Camp from 26th July 2021 to 31st July 2021. Our cadets actively participated in culturals. Power Point presentations on culture, instruments bands, history, geographical features, origin, script and dialects of TNPAN & NER Directorate, were presented. Discussion on leadership qualities were also done in which they participated. Cdt N. Syeda Tahseen Fathima also participated in solo dance and painting.

3. INTER GROUP SHOOTING COMPETITION

Our cadet, SUO S. Hari Preethi attended the Inter Group Shooting Competition which was held from 1st September 2021 to 9th September 2021 in Pondicherry. She participated in the 3 Position Peep sight category with a range of 50 yards.

4. ASSIST WORLD RECORD

In commemoration of our former President Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam’s birthday on 15th October Tamil Nadu Teachers Education University and our college jointly organized “Assist World Record of the World’s Longest Multinational Virtual Confluence” (a 12 hours multi-talent show of students). Our NCC Cadets performed Aerobics, demonstrated Self Defense and Pyramids for an hour.

5. CLEAN INDIA CAMPAIGN

Clean India mission is a nation wide campaign initiated by the government of India in 2014. Under this campaign our cadets took an effort to clean the statue of Mahatma Gandhi on 23rd October 2021.

6. NO PLASTIC

Swachh Bharat Mission was initiated by the Government of India to eliminate plastic and improve waste management. Under this mission our cadets made an effort to clean public places like park and slum areas and wrote essays on single use plastic on 24th October 2021.

7.BASIC LEADERSHIP CAMP

Our cadet, Cpl H. Krithika attended Basic Leadership Camp which was held from 8th November 2021 to 19th November 2021 at Coimbatore. She actively participated in all the camp activities and was able to develop leadership qualities.

8.PUNEET SAGAR ABHIYAN

Puneet Sagar Abhiyan was started by National Cadet Corps to clean the seashores, beaches off the plastic and other waste materials. The campaign was to increase awareness about the importance of keeping the seashore free from plastic waste across the country. Our cadets posted several videos, drawings and posters to spread awareness from 1st December 2021 to 30th December 2021.

9. THALIR – CADOFIESTA 2022

Thalir, an event under Cadofiesta, a part of intercollegiate NCC Competition which aims at implanting fedility in the minds of the cadets about the sprouting environmental and societal issues. Under Thalir we conducted five events - ?????, ?????, ????????, ???, ????. We did awareness on Rainwater Harvesting & Water Conservation, Covid 19 Vaccine, Animal Extinction, Marine Pollution and cleaned a forest trail area.

10. SWARNIM VIJAY DIWAS

India celebrates Vijay Diwas to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of it’s win over Pakistan in the 1971 war. Our cadets went to war memorial and paid homage to the war martyrs.

11.ANNUAL TRAINING CADRE CAMP

27 of our cadets attended the Annual Training Cadre Camp for second years at Women’s Christian College from 27th December 2021 to 31st December 2021. 24 of our cadets attended the Annual Training Cadre Camp for second years at Women’s Christian College from 3rd January 2022 to 9th January 2022.

12. NATIONAL YOUTH FESTIVAL

Cpl M. Subhashini, Cpl H. Krithika, LCpl A. Ziona, Cdt S. Saranya and Cdt S. Sofiya Fathima attended the online inauguration of 25th National Youth Festival on 12th January 2022.

13.WEBINAR ON YOGA AND MEDITATION

Our college organized a webinar on Yoga and Meditation on 12th January 2022 through Google Meet. Our Resource person was Dr. J. Komala, Assistant Professor, YMCA College of Physical Education. Around 93 cadets from different colleges attended the webinar.

14. AZADI KA AMRIT MAHOTSAV

Our cadets participated in competitions like Desh Bhakti Geet Writing, Rangoli Making and Patriotic Song Writing from 18th January 2022 to 29th January 2022.

15.COMPETITIONS

ELOCUTION COMPETITION

LCpl M. Yuvashree participated in the Elocution Competition conducted by Stella Maris College under National Youth Festival ON 11th January 2022. She won 3rd place in this competition.

SLOGAN WRITING COMPETITION

Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University conducted an online Slogan Writing Competition on 15th January 2022. Our cadets participated in the competition and Cdt T. Risha Shiny was placed in the top 7.

QUIZ COMPETITION BY WCC

Women’s Christian College conducted an online quiz competition to celebrate Republic Day on 24th January 2022. 15 of our cadets actively participated in this competition.

ONLINE QUIZ COMPETITION BY TNDALU

Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University conducted an online Quiz competition on 25th January 2022. Three of our cadets, LCpl S. Afra Farzana, Cdt K. Nithilavani, Cdt S. K. Sumayya participated and won 3rd place in the competition.

ONLINE QUIZ/GD COMPETITION BY KCG

KCG College conducted online Quiz and Group Discussion competitions on 26th January 2022. First year cadets participated in quiz and second year cadets participated in group discussion. Three of our second year cadets, LCpl S. Afra Farzana, LCpl A. Sakthi, LCpl A. Ziona won first, second and third places in Group Discussion respectively.

ETHIRAJ COMPETITION

Ethiraj College conducted online Doodle Making and Slogan Writing competition on 26th January 2022. Our cadets actively participated in both the competitions. One of our second year cadet, LCpl S. Afra Farzana won third place in Slogan Writing Competition.

16. PEACE AND HARMONY WEEK

Our unit, 1 TN Girls BN conducted mega social service activities from 14th March 2022 to 19th March 2022.

SEMINAR ON PEACE AND COMMUNAL HARMONY

Seminars on Peace and Communal Harmony was conducted at Ethiraj College under “Peace and harmony week” on 15th and 16th March 2022. L/Cpl A. Sakthi and L/Cpl A. Ziona participated and took a seminar on “Role of youth in peace and harmony”.

TALENT HUNT

Talent Hunt competition among the colleges under 1 TN Girls BN was conducted at Stella Maris College. We participated in competitions like Best Cadet competition, Contingent drill, Flag Area, Tent pitching and Group song.

17. JEEVA SPARSAM – CADOFEST 2022

Jeeva Sparsam is an intercollegiate NCC Competition for Cadofest 2022. We did three events under Jeeva Sparsam this year. The first event was ?????? ?????, an awareness event on plastic pollution on earth. The second event, ????? ???, was to let people recollect the Tamil tradition and it's history. The third event ?????? ???? is to give people a basic idea about the uniformed services in India.

18. CADOFIESTA BY TAMILNADU

DR.AMBEDKAR LAW UNIVERSITY

We participated in the intercollegiate NCC Competition, ‘Cadofiesta’, conducted by Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University on 18th,19th and 20th March 2022. We won the following prizes in the competition. We won Overall Runner Up Banner, Thalir Banner and Hard Combat Banner. We won the following prizes.

19. FIRING PRACTICE

Around 40 cadets went for WCC Simulator Firing Practice on 21st March 2022. 10 cadets were selected for practice at Vel Tech University on 22nd March. L/Cpl N. Hawah Sharmila Parveen and L/Cpl A. Ziona were selected for further practice at OTA Firing Range.

20. CADOFEST BY DGV COLLEGE

We participated in Cadofest 2022, an intercollegiate competition conducted by DGV College (5 Coy NCC Infantry) on 18th, 19th and 20th April 2022. We participated in Asthra, Maitrayi, Best Cadet, Individual Drill, Kholna Jodna, Quiz, GK & GSK, Debate and Flag Area. We won the second place in Asthra and the Best Jeeva Sparsam presentation award.

21. B & C CERTIFICATE EXAMS

The B Certificate examination was conducted on 5th and 6th March 2022. Written exam was conducted at Madras Medical College on 5th March. Practical exam was conducted at The New College on 6th March.

The C Certificate examination was conducted on 2nd and 3rd April 2022. Practical exam was conducted at 1 TN Med Unit NCC Ground on 2nd April. Written exam was conducted at Dhanalakshmi College of Engineering, Tambaram on 3rd April.

22. CATC CUM TSC INTER UNIT COMPETITION

CATC cum TSC Inter Unit Competition was conducted from 23rd April 2022 to 2nd May 2022 at Anna Adarsh College for Women, Anna Nagar. 30 cadets from first and second year attended this camp.

23. TSC TRG – I CAMP

7 Cadets attended the TSC TRG – I which was conducted at VIT University, Vellore from 9th May 2022 to 18th May 2022.
