DEPARTMENT OF Corporate Economics


The Post Graduate Department of Economics was started in the year 1993, while the course for Under Graduate was introduced in the year 1995. With the objective of meeting the growing demand for Economists in the corporate world and to make the course more job-oriented. The curriculum design was changed from 'ECONOMICS" to "CORPORATE ECONOMICS" in the year 2005. The Department of Economics constantly involves itself in bringing newer and more job- oriented subjects into the stream of Economics both at the P.G. and U.G levels enabling our students to face the challenges in the market.



  • To provide excellence in Commerce Education by providing knowledge and skills in the field of Corporate Secretaryship and to instil Value based Education incorporating Moral, Ethical, Social and Cultural values thereby creating a holistic development in the students.
  • To provide excellence in Commerce Education and Information Technology by providing knowledge and skills in the field of Commerce and Information Technology to nurture Technical and Profession growth of students.
  • To empower women students from economically and socially backward communities, irrespective of caste and creed with quality education in the field of Commerce and technology to develop their competencies.
  • To provide exhaustive academic Programmes in the fields of Business and Information Technology to raise the academic potential of the students.
  • To equip students with the skills and abilities needed to adapt to the changing global scenario and gain access to career prospects.
  • To Stimulate and empower the students to become novel leaders and equip them to become Entrepreneurs.



The Department is well-equipped with all the necessary infra-structure as well as well-qualified lecturers. The faculty members of the Department actively involve themselves in conducting activities like Seminars, Workshops and Inter-collegiate Competitions. They have also participated and presented papers in various State, National, International Seminars and Workshops. The students of the Department have been receiving University ranks from the year 1993 onwards. In 2006, the College was granted "Autonomous" status and from then on, the subjects offered are more suitable to enable the Department Students to compete in the corporate sector.
