Inauguration:

The Inauguration of the Matrix Club Activities and the Commemoration of Pi Approximation Day for the academic year 2023-2024 was held on 24/07/2023.The Chief Guest was Dr. V. Sharon Philomena, Assistant Professor, PG Department of Mathematics, Women's Christian College,Chennai. She delivered the inaugural address on the topic "Mathematical significance of Pi and its Real-life applications". The Office Bearers of the Matrix Club were announced and honoured with the badges by the Chief Guest. Intra-class Competition (Pi Challenge Game) was conducted after the inauguration.

Inter School Competitions - NUMERICA 2023-2024:

An Inter School competition - NUMERICA 2023-2024 was held on 06/10/2023. Mrs.Priya, Director, Head of Accounts Operations, Chennai, Mrs. Zahina Fathima, Research Scholar in Mathematics, Madras Christian College, Chennai and Mrs. Fathima Tabrez, Teaching cum Research Assistant, VIT University (Chennai Campus) were the Guest Speakers. 11 schools from all over Chennai participated in various competitions such as Math Debate, Math Fusion,Math Modeling and Poster presentation.

National Mathematics Day:

The National Mathematics Day was commemorated on 22nd December 2023. The Interdepartmental- Poster Making Competition on the topic "Mathematics in Nature" and the Interclass - MATH EXPO Competition on the topic "Wonders of Mathematics in Real world Applications" were conducted. The Judges for the Inter Class Competition was Dr.Ayesha Saleem, Associate Professor and Head, Department of Physics and Mrs. B. Shaheen, Associate Professor and Head, Department of Mathematics (Shift - II).

International Day of Mathematics:

The Commemoration of the International Day of Mathematics and the Valediction of the Matrix Club for the academic year 2023-2024 was conducted on 7th March 2024, at the Library Convention Hall .The Chief Guest for the event was Dr. A. Sagaya Suganya, Assistant Professor, Department of Mathematics & Actuarial Science, B. S. Abdur Rahman Crescent Institute of Science & Technology, Vandalur. The Chief Guest delivered the Valedictory Address on the topic “Applications of Mathematics”. Her insightful speech focussed on Cryptography- shedding light on encryption and decryption techniques, captivating the audience with her knowledge and passion for the subject. In commemoration of the International Day of Mathematics, the Journal Review Presentation Competition was conducted for the final year undergraduate students where they presented their research and analytical skills, covering a wide range of mathematical topics, demonstrating the depth and diversity of talent to the audience. Following this, the results for the logo designing competition were announced. The culmination of the event witnessed the distribution of prizes for the various activities.
